Shiksha Sagar High School celebrated 77th Independence Day in a magnum-opus manner, on the theme “Nation First Always First”.The school wore a festival look with a myriad of colours and costumes. The Chief Guest of the day was Mr. C .A . Prabhakar, Scientist at ISRO( Retd.) and Mrs .Kannika Parameshwari was the Guest of Honour.
The day began with welcoming the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour by the school Principal, PE Instructor and the members of the student council. The dignitaries hoisted the Tricolour , which was followed by the National Anthem. Mrs. Kannika Parameshwari unveiled a robotic flag hoisting model, created by students of the Robotic club. This was followed by a disciplined march past, led by the school captain, vice captain ,sports captain , vice captain and the captains and vice captains of four houses of the school. The march past and the band students were well trained by the PE instructor. An array of dances, songs and dance drama followed this ,which was truly colourful and patriotism personified.
The winners of competitions held as a part of Independence day were awarded certificates. The Chief Guest addressed the gathering and spoke about the Missions of ISRO and that future generation can make space travel affordable and available for everyone. On the whole it was a mesmerizing programme.
